What is the meaning of Gaia?
Gaia is the goddess in Greek mythology who embodied Mother Earth.
In the 1970’s, James Lovelock, a British scientist and environmentalist, used the name Gaia Theory to describe his hypothesis that Earth is a dynamic system (much like nonprofits and campaigns) in which organic and inorganic matter function to maintain the biosphere in much the same way our bodies’ organs work together to keep us alive.
